Q: How well does this flat iron curl?

It curls as good as my other flat iron, a one inch Revlon straightener that I thinks gets to about 425°, so it works pretty well. If you use hairspray on the curl itll last longer too. But it does a good job on its own for curls.

Q: Why is this only $20? The one I bought in the mall was $120! It's supposed to be the same product, but is it?

Me too!! $120 bucks at the mall. Just dropped it and broke it after seven years of use. Found them on amazon (herstyler isn't at my mall anymore) and bought 2 of them for $23.00 each. :) One for my house and one to keep over my friend's that I stay at all the time. I measured my plates and they are one inch and these are 1.25 inch. That's the only difference I see and I haven't received them yet, but I hope it works the same.

It gets pretty hot very fast. Have not needed to turn all the way up to 500

yes, it has a temperature control from 180° to 460°
