Fixed EDID issues with the mClassic and my monitor.
I purchased this EDID emulator in hopes of fixing compatibility problems between the Marseille mClassic and my ViewSonic monitor, and it set them straight.A little background: the Marseille mClassic is a video scaler with post-processing effects for older to modern consoles, and it works rather well. However, Marseille chose to make the device as simple to use as possible, with no user configuration whatsoever. It's strictly plug and play, with the mClassic reading your display device's EDID table to configure and choose its output resolution. Well, I learned from this 'hands off' approach to configuration that not all TV and monitor EDID tables are created equally: my ViewSonic XG3220 monitor, while supporting basically any and every resolution up to 4K, doesn't have a proper EDID table to save its life. So the result was strange and limited functionality of the mClassic, with resolution outputs of 3820x1080 and poor handling of the aspect ratio of the resulting video. However, this little device cleared all of that right up. I connected it in-line to my monitor from the mClassic, and now the device is pumping out a standard 1920x1080p signal that the monitor likes just fine (even from the Retro mode/blue light operation, which was where I had most of the problems before). I'm still not getting the 1440p output the mClassic claims it's capable of handling, in spite of the fact that this EDID emulator supports 1440p in its table and my monitor is able to support that resolution, but I suspect that's the fault of Marseille's little device and not with this EDID emulator. So if you're having similar issues like I described with your mClassic, pick up this adapter and you'll be good to go!

Finally!
For the past several weeks I have been having a lot of problems getting my 2023 M2 Mac Mini and my AOC 27" 27G2 monitor to work and play well together. I've tried adjusting the refresh rate and the resolution, but nothing was working. Finally, in desperation, I posted my problem to a Mac user group. Two people suggested changing to a different HDMI cable, with one giving a specific brand. It didn't work. Another person suggested using this, which they had successfully used in the past. I figured, "Hey, why not? I've got nothing to lose at this point, and it's a heckuva lot cheaper than replacing my monitor (which I happen to like very much). So, I ordered one and just plugged it in between the HDMI port on the monitor and the cable.Holding my breath, I booted up the mini. Lo and behold, IT WORKS!For anyone else experiencing this kind of problem with your M1 or M2 mini, which I am led to believe are very finicky about monitors, I highly recommend this EVanlak 3rd Generrtion HDML Edid Emulator Passthrough.

Monitor Doesn't Disconnect Anymore!
I use two of these EDID Emulators connected to my HDMI KVM switch (which I am only using for sharing a 2nd monitor between two computers). Before I got these, the monitor "dropped" or "disconnected" from the computer when I switched, which meant that everything that was on that monitor dropped to the computer's main monitor which was *NOT* the functionality that I wanted! Every time I switched the 2nd monitor to a different computer, I had to rearrange my windows all over again! At first, I thought that I would only need it for one of my computers, because I had to use a miniDisplayPort-to-HDMI adapter (the other computer had an HDMI port, so its cable was HDMI all the way) and I thought that maybe that's where the incompatibility was (I had read that adapters can frequently cause problems). So, I only bought one and at first I thought it didn't work ... that was because I had hooked it up to the switch's HDMI OUT port (the one that goes from the switch to the monitor). After thinking about if a bit, I tried hooking it up to the HDMI IN port (the one that comes from the computer). IT WORKED! YAY!But, not for the other computer (the one that had a "native" HDMI port, so there was no adapter in between). I surmised that the HDMI KVM switch itself was at fault and it didn't handle the EDID emulation at all. So, I bought another one of these Emulators, hooked it up in the same manner as the first one (to the HDMI IN port) and it worked right away!I am super happy with these EDID Emulators and I hope that they last a long time!

Not True 4k and Mac Thunderbolt does not work
This device does not display true 4k. it only supports 1080p and then scales to any other resolution. This is less obvious on 4k, but glaringly obvious at 2k. I have attached two screenshots @2k resolution, the first with the device and the second without. Also does not work with Mac Thunderbolt cables. Mac detects the display, but no stream comes through. The above is using my HDMI port, my HDMI to thunderbolts do not work. So, this is only useful if you are using a 1080p monitor through pure HDMI.

It works but...
It works but here's the deal. You need to connect the output to a monitor once so that it can grab whatever settings the PC needs to believe it's a monitor. It will keep this if you restart the PC but in my case if you are using a Dell laptop HDMI dongle if you remove that dongle and plug it back in it won't work until it gets connected to a monitor again. I haven't tested this if I shutdown the laptop but my hunch its once the device loses power it loses whatever data it needs to fool the PC.I'm also a bit sad I bought this so that when my laptop lid is closed I can still view the screen using NDI. I can still see the screen but when the lid is closed it disables all controls. This still happens when I change all of the "when I close my lid" settings so I'm guessing it's just a Dell security "feature"

Works well with KVM Switch
I had a problem with my new KVM switch resetting my Windows layout every time I pressed the switch to change from one computer to the other. These devices sorted it out. They simply plug in and now my windows layouts remain just as I want on each machine. Re-starting each computer after installation cured a minor display issue. It was initially necessary to reset the Windows extended display settings. There is a slight delay in switching from machine to machine but nothing serious. On the negative side they are a bit pricey but they do the job.
